Hi all
I have recently discovered that one of my ancestors - Daniel LONG b. 1826 in Isle of Wight - was a Sergeant Major in the Royal Marine Artillery according to the 1861-1881 censuses when he was a Ward Manager at RN Hospital Haslar in Gosport. I have searched on TNA for his Royal Marine Artillery - RN service record and I cannot find his service record anywhere. Whilst searching at Ancestry I found that he had received the Crimean Medal whilst he was serving on HMS Royal Albert.
Can anyone please help me locate his service record on TNA or elsewhere?
Thank you.
