I got so obsessed by my family tree research that I ended up fictionalising a small part of it - the relationships between a trio of interesting characters I'd discovered. I self-published that book as Mr Cavell's Diamond - it's available as an ebook from Amazon, price £1.99 but if you wait till next week it'll be on promotion at 99p. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mr-Cavells-D.../dp/B00JZZTEYY
But being constrained by the facts I'd discovered made the book hard to write, so I then decided to write an entirely fictional genealogy-inspired book. This one got me a two-book deal with publisher Carina UK and is available from all ebook retailers, the title is The Emerald Comb, current price £2.99. The premise of this one is - who knows what skeletons you might unearth in your family closet, when you go researching your family tree. https://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Emerald-.../dp/B00N1XRS3K
I know this is a bit off-topic, but I wondered if users of this forum might enjoy these books. I used to be here quite a lot years ago when I was doing my research, before I got caught up in novel writing. Writing's my first love but it was wonderful with these two books to be able to combine it with my love of family history research.

Sounds like fun. I think it is great that family history has inspired your writing. I myself write and perform songs inspired by incidents in my family history.

Wow, songs about your family history sound fascinating - like the old tradition of passing on family stories in the form of ballads.
