    Default Romanies?

I hate to ask because I sound like an ignorant American, but I see a lot of Loveridge posts under the Romanies. Are the Romanies a blood line and are they gypsies? That would make a lot of sense for my family! Lol

In England the term Romany applies to Gypsy Heritage.

Hi Susanna, it appears Loveridge was a well known traveller/Gypsy name in the East Midland/ East Anglia regions of England during thelast two centuries, still fairly common now among Gypsy Folk. if you google Henson Genealogy you will see mention of a wedding plus associated surnames, perhaps some may have meaning in your research.

That is great information. Thank you so much! I'm not sure when my Loveridge ancestors immigrated to the U.S. but I know it was at least probably the early part of the 1700's.
