Hello Caroline,
I have some very good news for anyone interested in Archibald B. Stirling and his family. Late in 2014, in a roundabout way, a member of the council was alerted to my request and went along to Warriston Cemetery to investigate. He located the very overgrown headstone which was still erect, cleared away some of the ivy and was able to photograph the stone.
Several members of his family are buried in his and the adjacent plot. At this stage, I am not sure if there is a further prostrate stone alongside but I believe the individual who cleared Archibald's grave would almost certainly have looked nearby.

Yes, the area is very badly overgrown and would benefit from some maintenance, without compromising the charm of the cemetery. With the worldwide passion for family history, I am sure there would be others with ancestors in Warriston who would be as thrilled as I was to find a surviving grave.

Thank you for your input,
Wendy
