Have just come across this fascinating website, which is collecting together resources - documents, photographs, postcards, posters, diaries, film, individual accounts etc - about the 1914-1918 war across Europe: https://www.europeana1914-1918.eu/en. Contributors range from prestigious academic institutions, to national museums, to private individuals. (So it could be you or me.)

None of 'my' names came up when I searched for them, but then I entered 'Army Service Corps' in the box and found, amongst other things, a 1915 recruiting poster. It gives rates of pay, so it looks as if my ASC grandfather might have been on 17s 6d a week. Well, that's this evening's tessara in the mosaic.
