57th Regiment of NZ Medal Roll
Scanned images of the original roll (dated 19 April 1869) of 455 officers and men of the 57th Regiment who were awarded the New Zealand Medal. Names are listed alphabetically within rank giving regimental numbers, period of service in the field in New Zealand, years served, occasional remarks as to character on discharge. Also contains a ‘working roll’ of the officers and men listing ranks, transfers, death or discharge, etc.

Deserters of the New Zealand Wars.
The website https://www.lynly.gen.nz/index.htm includes a series of databases featuring the names and précis information (but occasionally also transcriptions of correspondence relating to unsuccessful medal applications, many quite illuminating) of 694 soldiers who deserted while serving in New Zealand.
