Looking for Frank Johnson working in the the foundry at heanor. in c1881 his address was the foundry yard, so he must have been high up in the co. he originaly came from Doncaster and married his wife, Hannah MAry Barsby, in heanor. he was born about 1858. need more info about his time at the foundry

according to the 1881 Census, he was a Wagon Painter. Census ref: RG11 Folio 6 Piece 3325

unless the company's records have been deposited somewhere, it's unlikely that you'll have much success. You can always ask Derbyshire Records Office if they have anything about the firm.

Practical engineers / Carpenter / MIllwright
He described himself as a wagon painter, ( could be trains his children were botrn at Langley Mill)
1891 as a House Painter in Barnsley
1901 House Pianter in Wortley Leeds
1911 as a sign writer still in Wortley

According to my research Frank is my great grandfather.He had three sons Arthur, Frank and Alfred. Frank and Arthur were House painters. Arthur lived in 1911 Thornville grove Burley leeds in 1911.
