Default Cordwainer or Cordswainer in Kent

I've seen it with the "S" in the middle and without...although more often without. Looking for record sources
for professional organizations etc. 1800-1890 in Kent. Specifically anything around Maidstone.
I wrote a blog post on my cordwainer ancestor in Wittersham, Kent which might be of interest:
    leaftwigandstem.
    blogspot.com/2013/09/john-tappley-master-cordswainer.html
Anyone have any other useful links? Thanks
