Can I look at the letter?
The headed paper is from my grandfathers butchers shop!

This letter is in the WW1 Service Records (WO 363). There are probably other ways to access it, but I only know how to get there via Ancestry:

Search/Military/scroll down to "featured data collections" - British Army WW1 Service Records, 1914-1920/"browse this collection" - first letter C/first 2 letters CO/first 3 letters COP.
This takes you to image 1 of 26197. Change the image number to 5027.

HOWEVER - W Gaunt & Son is definitely NOT a butcher's. "Ladies and Gents Tailors, Outfitters, Hosiers, &c ..". The shop was at 56 Bridge Street, Peterborough.
