Hello
I was wondering if anyone is researching James Higgins who married Bridget Griffin in 1857 at Kilmovee RC Church.
After a process of elimination I think they were my G Grandparents. They lived in Uggool, Kilmovee and both were there in 1901. James died in 1908 and Bridget in 1928 I think.
They had a son James who was baptised on 11 June 1871 at Kilmovee and I think he was my Grandfather who went to Prescot, Lancashire, England and married Mary Ellen Comer (nee Donnelly) in 1902 in Prescot. My Gradfather died in Liverpool, England in 1938 aged 68.
In 1911 James & Mary Ellen Higgins's son John who was born in 1903 in Prescot is missing from the family and on the 1911 Irish Census Bridget Higgins (Widow) has a Grandson John Higgins aged 7 years born in England living with her.
James & Bridget had the following children, Catherine born 1862, Patrick born 1864, Mary 1867, Bridget 1869, James 1871 & Peter 1876. Catherine was still single at 1911, Patrick married Catherine Duffy in 1904 and stayed in Mayo, Mary married Thomas McCann in 1897, I don't know what happened to Bridget and Peter died in 1877.
James was not with Parents in 1901 and that is another reason why I think these are my family.
If there are any descendants of above families on the site I would love to hear from you.
Regards
Pat Berry (nee Higgins) in Australia.
