I'm not sure where to post this, so here goes. I'm struggling to decipher handwriting on a marriage certificate for the huisband's occupation. I'd really appreciate any help you can offer. The link is:

Location and year would help, as would the Father's occupations. It's looking a bit like Bombadier but I doubt that it is.

Born 1867. The marriage is 1890. His occupation is only on one England census as a coal miner in 1901. Emigrated to US in 1905 - where he was blacksmith (x2). It is very likely he was using an assumed name from 1890 to 1905.

My first thought was bombardier RN, which didn't make sense. But RA does. A very good possibility. He appears to have been very good at reinventing himself so it is not beyond him! I wonder what his wife thought when he told her (or she was in on it). They had four children in England, and all look as though they are registered Marshall, not McOlvin.
