    Default London 1909 - a Fishmonger & an Engineer

Filed with Frederick Albert FULLER's WW1 Service Records:

A reference (for F A Fuller), dated May 1909, handwritten by Arthur DAVIES, a Fishmonger of Alderman Street, Somers Town (is this London? Fuller was born St Pancras, home address was London, but enlisted at Pontefract, Yorkshire)

Also a reference, again dated May 1909, handwritten by W J HARMER(?) - an Engineer, of Marlborough Works, Holloway.

May be of interest as handwriting/signature samples.

Somers Town is in London, it lies more or less in an area to the North of the main line stations of Euston, St Pancras and Kings Cross. There is/was a large goods train depot there. But it looks as though Alderman Street no longer exists. Holloway lies sort of North East of Somers Town and its claim to fame is through its women's prison.

If you're still trying to track the locations, I think it's Aldenham Street, rather than Alderman. That's in the exact location as Peter describes and hasn't moved since 1909, as far as I can see!
