Hi,
I am looking for any relatives to fill in the descendants of Melford Samson Nicholls born Q3 1858 Long Melford, Suffolk and wife Sarah.
The children I have found so far is William, Olive, Samson, Reuben, Sarah, James, John and Thomas.
I cannot find the 1911 or 1901 census for this family, so cannot confirm some of the children.
Any help is greatly appreciated

A quick look at Ancestry shows he was a traveller or Romany.

Looking at the 1891 census and the birthplaces of the children, it seems they moved back and forth across the river
1891 living in Plumstead. RG12/541/97/21
Samson 1880 - New Cross
William 1883 - Essex
James 1886 - Middlesex
Thomas 1889 - Essex
Where and when were Olive, Rueben, Sarah and John born?
So far I can only find a possible census fit for Thomas in the 1901 in the London Hospital. It says born 1889 (age 12) at Stratford.

Could this perhaps be the baptism of another child (source IGI Family Search):
14 June 1891 at Deptford Job NICHOLLS son of Samson & Sarah Ann
Ancestry's London Electoral Registers show a Milford Samson NICHOLLS living at 29 Lorenco Road together with a James NICHOLLS and a Sarah NICHOLLS from 1924 to 1926 and then Milford Samson & Sarah NICHOLLS at the same address from 1928 to to 1935 and then in 1936/37/38 at the same address but with the addition of a John & Olive BUCKLAND.
All of which corroborates one of the marriages Lizzy found for you.

Thanks Mutley.
William is my great grandfather. 1911 census has him born at Upton Park Essex, and living at Gainsborough Ave in East Ham. He married Kezia Brinkley in 1904 in Edmonton. Although she was going under her mothers name of Scarrott and it got interpreted as Scout for the marriage certificate. So i figure that the family had settled somewhere close to Edmonton for 1901 and 1911 census.
Reuben married Rosina Folkes 1916 in Edmonton. I think he died Q2 1943 in Edmonton aged 47, putting his birth around 1896.
John was apparently born 13 Nov 1893. This date is from death entry, he died may 1984 in tottenham
Sarah I have no idea about, it was mention that she died about 1965
Olive died 1984 and the birth date was given as 7 Apr 1899.
Thomas census sounds promising

Thanks Lizzy9.
Thats a marriage I wasn't expecting to find easily. That puts Sarah's birth date at around 1898 and puts the family still in Tottenham.

Thanks janbooth.
The record for Job seems like it's my family.
The electoral lists confirms the marriages too.
Interestingly, there is a Job Nichols and wife Emma living at no 12 Lorenco Road. According to family trees on Ancestry it isn't the above Job.
