Default Ayers of Princes Risborough, Bucks

I was just doing a search through my PR cd for Princes Risborough for John Ayres. I got over 150 hits on marriages alone.

Then I realised the Vicar John Ayres was a witness for the marriages.

I just wish he was my rellie, coz then I could give a blow by blow account, of where he was for over 60 years, by the day, week and month almost.

So if anyone has John Ayres in their tree.......don't ask me for details of his whereabouts.

Oh, and before I forget........Thomas Ayres is just as productive.

And.........there was one marriage for John Ayres, and it wasn't mine.

I had a similar one with a Schoolmaster. The first time his name was mentioned in the Parish records was for his own marriage, after that he must have attended every marriage for years. I've often wondered whether it was because he could write.
