    Hi Maurice,

I have given your post a thread of its own as it may attract more attention that way.

Maurice - you had already posted this query. I have closed your other thread (click here to see) as it had received no replies.

Meanwhile, I would suggest that you buy this book (click here to find it) as it will contain lots of useful information for you to follow up on and help you to trace your County Kerry ancestors.

If bride and groom came from different parishes, tradition was to marry in the bride’s. If you have searched for the marriage in Templenoe, the parish where they lived, and it’s not there, and the records are complete (as they seem to be) then depending on what you know about Mary’s origins, I’d be inclined to search all the adjacent parishes.

The adjacent RC parishes to Templenoe are Sneem, Beaufort, Killarney, Kilgarvan and Tuosist. You can see what records survive and where they can be accessed on this link:

    https://www.
    irishtimes.com/ancestor/browse/counties/rcmaps/kerryrc.htm

I assume you already have spotted it but in case you haven’t, Daniel is listed in Griffiths Valuation for Gortacloghane (Gortaclahan) in 1852 when he was renting a farmhouse, outbuildings and 98 acres of land, plus he had a one fifth share in another 81 acres.

There were 2 farms by the 1901 & 1911 censuses:
