There now TEN million pagesand ONE HUNDRED million articles now available through Trove. Thanks for this Sandra. I'll go and take a look at The Leader and see if there are any reports of OH's family's exploits.

The Newcastle Chronicle is now accessible. It's successor, The Newcastle Morning Herald and Miners Advocate will soon follow. Unfortunately the very first Newcastle paper from the earliest years (the name escapes me) will never appear as all issues are believed to be totally lost.

Two of Australia’s major regional newspapers—the Newcastle Morning Herald and The Illawarra Mercury—now freely available on Trove. The Newcastle Morning Herald was selected for digitisation by the National Library under its Australian Newspaper Plan and the digitisation of The Illawarra Mercury was supported by the Wollongong City Council Library and the University of Wollongong.

So hopefully there'll be a few treasures there for some of you.
