Default Missing Charles and Mary Ann

I need some help to try and track down Charles & Mary Ann Haswell. They can be found in 1841 at Nelson St, Bethnal Green - HO107/694 f25 p12.
Can anyone decipher the comment in the margin beside the entry ?
They can be found again in 1871 at - RG10/469 f16 p26 in Shoreditch. Living with them are Mary Ann’s sister’s children. Their parents John & Ellen/Elleanor Lye seem to have disappeared. Did they emigrate ? The children seem to have disappeared by 1881, did they follow their parents overseas?
Charles and Mary Ann both died in 1879 and this is backed up by probate records.
Charles Haswell, bachelor, shoemaker, residence Holywell Lane married Mary Willamet, spinster, residence Curtain Rd, on 8th Oct 1849 at the church of St John the Baptist, Hoxton.
Why did they not marry until 1849 if they were together in 1841 or is the Mary Ann on the 1841 census a different person ?
Could it be that they married just prior to emigrating, if so where did they go ?
So many questions, so few answers !

For the benefit of anyone who might be looking, the full 1841 census reference is The National Archives; HO 107/694/9 f 25 p 12. For the 1841 census, it is essential to include the book number (book 9 in this case).

Don't forget that in the 1841 census no relationships are given, so Charles and Mary Ann could be brother and sister, or cousins, as well as husband and wife.

It's usually the address written there, so it could be a place in or near Nelson Street. The enumerator's description for ED 30 says "...comprising the south side of Nelson Street from the corner of Christopher Street to Cocks Lane. Cross over to the north side of Nelson Street as far as the corner of Cross Street including Cross Street"

I agree it looks more like a comment, though. I can't make out exactly what it says either, but the second line looks like 'by children'

Sophia Ridoutt, widow of Janus Street (dau. of John Lye, deceased, shoemaker) married Benjamin Gogay (or Gagay?), a carman of Whiston Street, at Haggerston St Mary on 21 July 1879. By 1891 Sophia has presumably died for Benjamin Gogay was a widower. He can be found at RG 12/254, f.20, p.34 with stepson Charles Redoot, 15, and son Benjamin G. Gogay, 9.

P.S. The death of 35 year old Sophia Gogay was registered in the Shoreditch district in Q2 1884.

This could be the death of John LYE the shoemaker. He was aged 30 in 1861 - RG9/235 folio 77 page 33 (held by TNA, Crown copyright)

    Deaths
    Mar Qtr 1868
    LYE John age 39
    St. Geo. East 1c 306
(reg district is adjacent to Bethnal Green and close to Shoreditch)

And this earlier death possibly his wife Ellen, but no age in the index at this date of course.

    Deaths
    Jun Qtr 1863
    LYE Ellen
    Shoreditch 1c 96

That might explain why the children are with the HASWELL couple in 1871.

    Deaths
    Sep Qtr 1876
    LYE Charles age 18
    Shoreditch 1c 115

Thank you all for your input, it is morning here now & I will have a look at what you have found. The main mystery for me is where was Charles Haswell between 1841 and 1871.

    Hi,

Do you know if there were any children born to Charles and Mary?
