Charles August Pierre-Humbert and his wife (Marie nee Messerly) and family migrated from Europe to Victoria Australia about 1850-1860. One child was born at sea en-route to Australia.
Could sks tell me when they sailed, from which port (Europe or England)?
They were born in Switzerland about 1820.
Kind regards

Hi,
The Victorian PRO Unassisted passenger index records the arrival of the PIERREHUMBERT family in 1864: PIERREHUMBERT Augt Age 37, Elvina Age 1, Marie Age 6 and Marie Age 26 on the Golden Land.

The Log of Logs shows the Golden Land as being a ship of the Black Ball Line. Unfortunately there is no mention of the 1864 voyage however in 1863 it sailed from London to Melbourne. It would appear they may well have sailed from London however you really need to see the shipping lists held by the Vic PRO to confirm. Information about viewing the lists is in the link in the previous post - unfortunately they are not online.

There are a number of references on Trove to the ship having sailed from London.
