There is certainly a family by the name of HOVELL (William & Mary to be exact) having children from at least 1763 onwards according to the parish registers of Denver (courtesy of Family Search). Not that this helps at all with your search for John HAINES but at least you should have a good chance of tracing back Ann's line.

"Let's just say that A* would fail 99.9999999999% of any tests you gave it on English counties. "

I agree with you Pam, along with the many other 'little errors'!

Searching Jones I came across the following:

Wanwang Jones b1839 St Martin in the Fields, and with a name like that I just had to look at the image!
    - which reads Mainwaring Jones b1839..some poor soul will search forever for that one!

    Hi Linda,
Any luck with replies to John Haines b. 1769 Littleport? I am also looking for him.
