If you are interested in finding out more on Christopher Hearth, the papermaker, try googling Papermakers Index. Jean Stirk operates this and has some 12,000 names. He might appear, or others of the family, which would give some hints as to the family origins. pwholt

    Hi Mutley,
it's been a long time, but just wondering if you are still researching this family of Selby Hearth?
And if so, are you a descendant, and have you DNA tested please?
    Thanks,
    Sbunter at hotmail.com

I’m sorry, but Mutley left BG a few years ago, that’ s why the name is tagged as “guest” now.
You might have better luck on another Genealogy Forum called “ Top Dog”. I don’t have the url, but Google should produce it.

Thank you for posting the information. Your post will not be wasted - other researchers might, like yourself, find it during a search.

It’s amazing how often old threads spring back to life!

It is not just stuff you find online that has to be proved but everything you find anywhere or even think you know.
For example here is a gravestone I photographed

    https://anguline.co.uk/cert/stone.html

or my mother's marriage certificate from GROS

    https://anguline.co.uk/cert/marr_cert.html

Most experienced researchers will say you can never get enough unique sources to confirm information you find.
    Cheers
    Guy
