In the 1911 census my grandmother's brother James Horsfall was recorded as a pupil teacher in Bury St Edmunds (5 Athenaeum Lane). He was born in Rochdale in 1883, and later lived in London and in Sleaford. He served in WW1, a sergeant at the time of his discharge (wounds) in 1917. I think he recovered from his wounds, and would have thought that he went back to teaching. But where?
I really don't have much of a handle on this enquiry, and would value any information or suggestions on how best to proceed.
With thanks, Ian (in Cornwall)
