    I have been looking for an ancestor who is reported to have been awarded MBE. I looked in the London Gazette for his name (he lived in Trinidad up to 1950. Going through every listing was too tedious. There is a much easier way: Go to https://www.thegazette.co.uk/honours-lists where you find listings for each year. Select the Gazette listing of interest and open it. There will be multiple pages for viewing, but rather than search each page individually, go to the right under Actions and select Download Complete PDF. Open the PDF and now you can search the entire contents for the name or place of interest. Much faster. I did 30 years of searching in a little over an hour.
