    Thumbs up GREEN NEWTOWN?

    I have just obtained a death certificate for Joseph Mills who died in 1859.On the certificate it says where died.....GREEN NEWTOWN. He died of a disease of the brain,was there a place in Newtown in 1859 called Green ? and could it have been an asylum or workhouse?Anyone out there know anything please.

    A search of the 1861 Census addresses for Green + Newtown throws up the following:

    1. “Green Estate”, Llanidloes, in Newtown Registration District, Montgomeryshire
    e.g. see RG9 Piece 4246 fol. 15 p. 8

    2. Green, Manafon, Montgomeryshire e.g. see RG9 Piece 4252 fol. 66 p. 1
