William Henry Heathcote was born on 23 Jan 1910. Where unknown.
His father was Orlando Heathcote and his mother was Harriet Mcgregor.
There is a strong Scottish conection as Harriet was from Scotland. Where unknown.
I have found several references to an Orlando H Heathcote in Perth. He is a Co-op Insurance manager.
The dates are 1912 and 1927.
I dont know if the Orlando Heathcote I'm after is Scottish or English. I dont know his birth date.
The information is all very thin. I know that Harriet died in England in the 1930's and there is a Harriet K Heathcote that died in Birmingham in 1934, aged 56, born about 1878.
Orlando married again to a lady called May.
There is a May E Plane, b 1911 that marrries an Orlando Heathcote,1935, in Norfolk.
An Orlando H Heathcote dies in 1953 in Birmingham. Born about 1880.
A May Ellen Heathcote dies in 1995, aged 83, in Kent.
The only starting point I can see will be to find the birth of William Henry Heathcote and get his birth certificate.
I think I will go and lie down now.
Cheers
Dave.

There is also a WWI Medal Roll Record for Orlando H. Heathcote, who enlisted on 24/5/15 and was in the Forth RGA. (Not that this helps much.)
I can see an Orlando H Heathcote in the 1881 to 1901 census in Lancashire (born abt 1880 in Chorley), but I can't see him in the 1911 England/Wales census. As an initial thought, have you looked for Orlando and son in the 1911 Scotland census? You can view the census on ScotlandsPeople but you would need to purchase some credits. You could check for a marriage in Scotland at the same time, and/or a birth for William.

Cheers Olliecat.
Sorry, yes I saw the medal card and the Orlando in Lancashire.
What the "Forth RGA" means, beats me too. Nothing came up when I googled it.
Tried the marriage and the birth in Scotland, nothing positive there.
There may be a clue in the names. Orlando H and William Henry. The H could be Henry as well.
Nothing comes up in the English 1911 and as an Orlando H appears in Scotland working for the Co-op in 1912, the chances are he's there in 1911 as well.
If anyone can check the Scottish 1911 without it costing them anything, that would be great, other wise it looks like buying credits is the answer.
If at the end of all this, its the same Orlando all the way through, he certainly whizzed round the country a lot.
Cheers
Dave.

That would be the Forth Royal Garrison Artillery. See here...

I think it probably costs credits. However, I haven't ever accessed the 1911 Scotland census (no Scottish rellies of my own), but I'm sure other forum members will advise on this.

Would this be a possibility in the 1911 Ireland census?

Hopefully the link will work. If not just search for Harriet Heathcote.

That marriage looks promising, olliecat, especially as there's a birth registration for a William H. Heathcote in the Dublin North district in the first quarter of 1910 (from FamilySearch, Irish civil registration data).

Back again.
The problem with all of this is that it appears Harriet's maiden name was Keogh, rather than Mcgregor.
Births Mar 1878 Pontefract 9c 129
Keogh Harriet Kirby
Edit: although she was living in Glasgow with her parents in the 1881 and 1891 census and was also there in 1901.
