Whilst looking at my Witherall branch of the family tree, I noticed that my 4 x great grandfather states his birth as being in 1821 / 1822 at Beedon on the 1861 & 1871 censuses, then from 1881 he states his birth as being in 1819 / 1821 / 1822 at Chieveley, which is a short distance from Beedon.
I have given a baptism record from the IGI for a Thomas Wetheral who was born to a Hannah Wetheral on 1st july 1821 at Beedon.
Working on this, I have found on the IGI, a Hannah Wetherell who was born on 13 April 1797 at Beedon to Thomas & Jane Wetherell.
Now I have found other children born to Thomas & Jane Witherell / Wetherell:
2. RACHAEL WITHERELL - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 21 NOV 1790 Beedon, Berkshire, England
HANNA WETHERELL - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 23 APR 1797 Beedon, Berkshire, England
NAOMI WETHERELL - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 20 MAR 1800 Beedon, Berkshire, England
RICHARD WETHERELL - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Christening: JUL 1788 Beedon, Berkshire, England
But can only find one wedding between a Thomas Witherell and a Jane and that took place in Nortumberland:
THOMAS WEATHERALL
Male
Marriages:
Spouse: JANE PELLINGTON
Marriage: 07 DEC 1802 Christ Church, Tynemouth, Northumberland, England
Now my concern is that this isn't the right couple for two reasons:
1. It's almost the other end of the country to where the children were born.
2. It's after the birth of the last child.

Have you tried the Berkshire Marriage Index (Google, if necessary)

Nothing comes up when I search.
Am now looking for a marriage between a John Witherell & an Ann sometime between 1765 and 1768 as their first child appears to have been born in 1769.

Going back over this thread, I have just looked at some hints on Ancestry and there is this record:
England & Wales Christening Records, 1530-1906
Name: Thomas Witherall
Gender: Male
Birth Date: 28 Mar 1821
Christening Date: 1 Feb 1824
Christening Place: Cholsey, Berkshire, England
Age at Christening: 2
Father's Name: Thomas Witherall
Mother's Name: Martha
How can I tell who are the correct parents of the Thomas Witherell that I'm a descendant of?

To be honest, you really need to work with all the original records of the parish, not just the indexes. The originals may give you extra information such as father's occupation, and place of residence. But also, more importantly is to go through the burial registers and marriage registers of the parish to ensure that you have the right people, and that they haven't died in infancy, or married someone else and had a different batch of children.
Sometimes our ancestors may be from another parish which has't been indexed yet.
