    Catholic Parish Registers https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0428

I searched "Marriages 1814 - 1841". There is an entry 27 April 1837 for a "Peter MCauly and Mary Dougherty" followed by a scribble which might signify "Witnesses"/ and "Her mother and brother". - minimal detail. I think this may be an Index.

Yes, this would be the third generation back, I believe. My grandfather's name is mentioned, George Leonard Macaulay, born 1886. I remember him, as when I was a child he was still living.

So then, Dr. Peter Macaulay (My Great Grandfather), his Dad (Another Peter), married a Mary Doughty, on April 27, 1837. (I wonder what other children he may have had?)

It does get a bit confusing I know, with so many "Peters" in the family" In fact, interestingly, my Dad's name also was Peter (Peter Frank Macaulay)
I am curious, if he was the only one born of my grandfather, George Leonard Macaulay? I think he was, but never really know!!!

Okay .... Fourth generation, who was the father and mother of Peter Macaulay and Mary O'Dougherty?

My great grandfather was Dr. Peter Macaulay who live in Thornfield House in Carrickfergus.
I would like to find any names of his parents going further back and the rest of the family years further back. It seems like I am at a stand-still at this point. There is nothing online that goes further back.
Peter Kirk was the son of Sir William Kirk.

Hi Thornfield and North Lodge were two separate estates, however the Kirk family owned Thornfield which I hold a time line for as I'm currently running a heritage project. Who was Margaret's parents as there was two separate Kirk families at that time.

Is your own family named KIRK? If not, can we have their surname please?
