    Default 1911 census headings

    On the 1911 Census.co.uk site does the heading "District/other" refer to the place of birth or of residence in 1911?

    It's the registration district where the census was conducted. Just as in earlier censuses, the 1911 census was organised by registration district.

    If you want to see the birthplace on the search results page, use the genes reunited search page. It's free to search and you can then switch back to the other site to spend your money.
