I am working on two families from Trefeglwys parish.

The Morgans: My 4x great-grandfather Evan Morgan, bap. 3 Aug 1797, son of David Morgan (?-1806) and Catharine Morris (1753-1818). David Morgan and Catharine Morris were married 21 Feb 1792 and known children include John born 1790, David born 1795, and Edward born 1800. Catharine also had a daughter Mary in 1782 with an Evan Morgan and another daughter Hannah (father unknown but possibly David Morgan) in 1792. David Morgan died in 1806 at Dolegwden while Catharine died in 1818 and sons David and Edward in 1816--all at Gwernyfan. I believe Catharine is the daughter of Edward (alias Zach) Morris and Catherine Evans. I have not been able to identify David Morgan's parents however. My Evan Morgan had a first marriage to a Mary(maiden name unknown) before 1824 and they had 4 children: John (1823), Mary E. (1826), Evan (1828), and Eliza (1831). Mary died in 1832 while they were living at Parkyrosin, Escereith township. Evan married Ann Row/Humphries in 1834 at Llanllwchaiarn and they add the following children: Ann (1833), Hannah (1836), David (1839), William H. (1842), and Edward A. (1842). Ann had an earlier child Margaret (1828), father unknown. Evan and Ann moved about 1840/41 to Blaenavon, Monmouth and then emigrated to America in 1852 with some of the children.

The Roes/Rows: My 4x great-grandmother Ann Roe/Row (aka Ann Humphries/Humphreys), bap. 7 Sep 1807, was the base child of Jane Row and Humphrey Humphreys (father noted in parish record in margin). Her mother Jane Row, bap. 1 Aug 1785, was the daughter of Jonathan Row/Roe and Mary (maiden name unknown). Jane had an additional base child, Jane, bap. 3 Apr 1811 with no father noted. I do not know what happened to Jane after that time. I have not been able to find a marriage for Jonathan Row/Roe and his wife Mary, nor their burials, nor his birth/baptism. This couple did have several other children all baptized in Trefeglwys: Mary (1787, died as infant), John (1788), Mary (1791), Elizabeth (1793), Evan (1795, died as infant), Hannah (1797), Evan (1800, died as infant), Edward (1802), Unnamed (1804), and Elinor (1806). As for Ann's father Humphrey Humphreys I have some possibilities in Trefeglwys: 18 Nov 1781 to Evan and Anne Humphreys; and in the event of patronymics--21 Mar 1790 to Humph and Margaret Williams or 8 Jun 1772 to Humphrey and Mary David.

Any assistance in finding out more about these families would be greatly appreciated.
