James Moody Ponton

James was born in warminster,Wiltshire in 1844 and last appeared on 1861 census in warminster. He was a coach driver,I think. He married in 1869 in st Pancras but there is no trace thereafter
However upon googling his name there is an entry fir someone seeking him in New Zealand in 1889 or thereabouts.
Is this the same person and can anyone find any information about him.

It was 1890 or thereabouts his mother heard from him whilst living in Wanganui.
