    Exclamation iron driller

    Hi,
My grandfather was an "iron driller" in Scotland.
Not exactly when..he was born 1895, married 1915.

Any information abour this occupation would be very interesting.

    Thanks
    Karen

    Thankyou Peter..

As it was near the sea - Greenock Scotland - I wondered if he might have worked in the shipyards helping to rivet the ships?

Do you think that it would be with an electric drill or was it done by hand...if the latter, it must have been a very difficult occupation.

Welcome to the British Genealogy Forum, Atticboy59.
Have you looked for him in the census?

It's always easier to help people when they provide more info, especially when the name is not very rare. If you are new to such forums, you may find the post HERE helpful.

    Enjoy!
