    Default '1901 Official Census online'

Today I checked an email account I had not used for several months. There were a couple of messages in the inbox including this one:

    Sent from: 1901OfficialCensus.co.uk
Header: Sir/Madam, Can 1901 Census online help you?

The address and header wording looked dodgy so I deleted the message without reading it. Has anyone else had this spam/scam?

    1901OfficialCensus.co.uk
This is precisely what it says on the tin!

A DNS lookup resolves to the same IP address as 1901censusonline.com, in other words it's all above board.

Unless you're overly irritated by junk mail, there's absolutely nothing to worry about.

Thanks Peter. I am not a techie type and I had to look up what DNS stood for. Having been warned about the dangers of similar looking addresses, I did find the1901censusonline.com one so thought the co.uk plus the different wording one was bogus. The header reminded me of some emails from Nigerian conners received last year. Ah well, whatever the 1901 folk wanted to tell me will remain a mystery.

Does anyone know when the acquisition by Brightsolid is actually going to happen?
