Know I already put this in another thread, but does anyone know where I can find records of a trial in 1847? My gr gr grandfather was tried and sentenced to 10 years transportation.
All I have is Co Mayo. I already have info from the Ireland-Australia transportation database, but am trying to find his actual trial records or a report in a newspaper. Most people say all records were destroyed in 1922 but I have found this to be incorrect. Gr gr grandad was Francis Philbin. Any suggestions gratefully received - please. Am tearing my hair out!!! Thanks. Jeddah.

This thread is closely related to another which can be found here
From experience, keeping two threads running on the same subject does tend to lead to confusion and duplication of effort. I will therefore close this thread. If you can assist, please reply to Jeddah's other thread. Thanks
