Greetings All:

I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me about the office of "Treasurer of Calais" ? I have found information regarding a historical figure I am studying who was appointed to that office probably before the Battle of Tewkesbury. [Poor man was beheaded on the field.] Is this a position that is appointed by the king? What exactly were the duties of the person holding this position? I've tried a google search, but all I get are people who held the position at one time or another, nothing about what the office entailed.

As always, all answers are appreciated.

Sue
