Hello all
I have managed to find a marrige for a G(x3) Grandad - which was 1854.
I found it in the Geneology centre in Glasgow (a fabulous place if you have chance!)
Thing is its an OPR - does this mean I cant get any further - would there be a certificate to order - preferably one that would give me more info onn the family?
For reference
John Campbell 1819 - Torosay
Flora McQuarrie - 1825 Kilninian - father to her Lachlan McQaurrie c(1801) and Nelly Paterson.
I also have the Scotlands people register for their first born.
Can I progress any further on John or am I stuck now?
Many regards
Sonja

Ah well - I thought as much. The OPR image does not give any info apart from names, date and the fact they were residing in Glasgow at the time of marriage.
Thanks for replying

Fabulous!!! i think we have a match here.
The reason Im so sure is that there is a trend in reusing the mothers maiden name down the generations.
Johns son was Hugh Colquhoun
Hughs son was John Colquhoun
also daughter - Hughina Colquhoun.
Am doing a happy dance around the room now.
Will PM you.
