I am having trouble trying to find any detailed information about living and working conditions in the Yorkshire woollen town of Dewsbury throughout the 19th century. There doesn't seem to be an easily accessible (i.e. via internet) local historical society. All my relatives lived there and worked in the mills. Can anyone provide information or point me in the right direction?

you should find something on the Internet Archives site. Enter Dewsbury in the Search box and select "Texts"

Thanks to all of you. Great help. Looks like I'm going to be busy and the memoir I am writing will fire back up after a long stalling. Cheers all. Tony
