Hello, I am glad to share information with any other McAleer researchers. My ancestor was John McALEER, spade manufacturer of Drumnakilly, parish Termonmaguirk, Tyrone, born about 1792, died at St. John City, New Brunswick, Canada 1873; married about 1814 to Ann HUGHES of parish Cappagh, had 4 children in Tyrone before immigrating to Canada with his family, where they had 4 more children. He made spades in New Brunswick also. I have a map that includes a spade mill at Drumnakilly; other evidence is from Canadian records, Boston records, and family history, since there are no extant parish registers from the time period in Termonmaguirk. My gg grandfather Pat McAleer was supposed born on St. Patricks day 1815. He settled in Boston, Mass., USA. --Beth McAleer, Massachusetts, USA.
