Hi I don't know if anyone can help me, but I wonder if it is possible to search the Australian Data base from the UK.
The query is that my Grandfather travelled to Australia in 1914 and registered there as a Farm Labourer in Sydney.
On another web site someone said that they had found a record of where is lived in Sydney and who he was living with, but they did not give me any details so that I could do a "look up" any ideas anyone

Possibly on Ancestry.com.au. They have some Australian electoral rolls.
is this the chap who was killed in WWI? If so it could not have been on the electoral rolls on Ancestry as they only have 1930 and 1936 available for NSW.

Yes this was the "chap" that was killed in WW1, so I don't know where this person got their info from, perhaps trying to "lead me up the garden path" so to speak

Strange. Nothing on his WWI service record to indicate the Australian address either.
I would suggest contacting the person who gave you the information.
