Has anyone any thoughts on how to solve the following problem ?.
6XGreat garndfather, John Bettesworth. Born C.1680.
He was a physician who settled in St.Hilary, near Penzance, Cornwall.
He was married before 1701 Could have been in Hampshire (Chichester ?).
His wifes name was Christian. Could possibly have been Catherine Christian(a).
Several generations after these carried this double Christian name.
John was quite possibly a Quaker (?).
Licence to practice issued by the Archbishop of Canterbury to John Bettesworth of Hampshire, a Quaker. Another entry in the same index mentions John Betesworth of Chichester. I cannot see that there would have been 2 with the same name, so assume they are one and the same.
Any pointers would be very welcome.
Thanks, Roy White
