    Default Port Royal - a ship

    Recently I found a family member on a Crew List. He is William Peterkin born at sea in 1880 aged 26 years, working as a 4th Engineer on the vessel "Port Royal" Official number 111309. This would have been in 1906.
    Would someone know how I can find more information about this ship, as all I get on Google is the Port in Jamaica or the Royal Dockyards. Thanks

    The National Maritime Museum Historic Photographs Collection mentions:

    'Port Royal (Br) Passenger/Cargo liner. Imperial Direct West India Mail Co.Ltd (Elder Dempster & Co, manangers).'

    Entering - Port Royal Imperial Direct West India Mail Co.Ltd - into a search engine shows a hit on The Ships List with a bit more detail.
