    Default Allan of County Down

    Hi Folks,
I know this is a very long shot in the dark but, is there anyone doing research on the surname of Allan from County Down or Belfast.
My branch left there in the 1820's and, moved to Edinburgh then Midlothian.
All i've got on them is my gr grandparents x4 were Goerge and Agnes Allan, both born County Down, my gr grandfather x3, Andrew Allan was born in Belfast.
    Cheers Iain

    Iain,

Be aware that half of Belfast is in County Antrim (the river Lagan is the dividing point) so if your ancestors came from Belfast, be sure to check both counties.
