Thanks Emeltee
There must be 2 Charles Sale's at that time because the marriage between Charles and Sarah Latham is the right time but according to the Census's he was married to a Mary Ann.
The marriage betwwn Charles and Mary Ann Hampson occurred in 1860
or did he marry twice??
The Parish records are a great help Thanks
Thanks

Sorry for not explaining Brian.
These are the census reference numbers class RG11 piece 3826 folio 24 page 14.
If you get into 1891 in Anc* put in surname scroll down to the blocks at the bottom & put in the ref I gave you for John.
They are there in familysearch free 1881 census too.
I may have found a marriage for Harriet.
Talk soon.

Not really Brian!
Wm has been giving me the run around although in 1911 there is only 1 Wm Sale bn Anderton he's 46 living in Bolton district. To know more, it's pay per view.
I've got him...1891 birthplace mistranscribed, reads Anderton on census form.
He's at 3 Canada St Horwich 26 "boiler tuber", wife Cecily 26, Clara 5, sis in law Ellen Latham 39 unm cotton doubler, all born Horwich.
Lancs BMD marr Wm to Cicely Latham, Holy Trinity Horwich 1884
1901 birthplace as Horwich
William 36 steam engine maker/tuber, Cicely 36, Clara 15 dressmaker's apprentice, 19 St John's St Horwich.
RG13/3609/10/12
I had another squizz in 1911, both Cicely as spelt and Clara are there.
Back to Harriet, poss married Alfred Brooks in 1892.
She's in 1911 Bolton district bn 1866 close enough.
I'll just pack up O.H's smoko and return.

1901 Harriet
Hi again
I've enjoyed this as it's in an area of Lancs that I am not familiar with.
Interesting that Cicely was nee Latham!
I'd say this is Harriet in 1901 listed as Brook
(I found her by using her first name only & wife of Albert etc)
There is a little squiggle after the k but not enough for the transcriber to say it should be Brooks.
Albert 32 coal miner underground bn Ainsworth, Harriet 34 bn Horwich, Eveline 6 bn Radcliffe
Bradley Fold, Ainsworth part of Bury.
RG13/3650/7/5
marr Bolton Rego Office or registrar attended
Harriet Sale to Alfred Brooks 1892
from Lancs BMD
