Default 1841 Romford Essex census look-up

Please could sks have a look for Duprey/Dupree/Dupre family in Romford in the 1841 census.

If anyone also has a Kellys directory or similar could that be checked as well. It was believed that the family were in fact in Old Street Finsbury area - pages are missing for that period. It has now come to light that the family may have been in Essex - at least they were in Romford in 1839.

    Any information is appreciated.

    Regards

Search of Directories on Ancestry gives

    DUPREY - 7 but none before 1882

DUPREE - the same 1882 is the earliest

DUPRE - the same 1882 is the earliest

    Default 1841 Essex census look-up

You are confirming what I have found. It is a real mystery - if they were indeed living in the Old Street Finsbury area then the missing pages of the census account for why they can't be found. However it was a surprise to find them in Romford in 1838/39 and not Rochford, where Mary Duprey's family lived and where she chose to birth at least 6 of the 8 children she had.

Unfortunately they never appear altogether in a census and the children seem to spend time with the other relatives - as per Henry in the 1841 census. The father Archibald (Tallow chandler) dies in 1844 in Rochford.

Many thanks one and all who replied.
