Unhappy Baptist records for Surrey and Middlesex

Where would I start looking for Baptist records in Surrey and Poplar and Deptford in the late
    1700's and early 1800's?
I was emailed a link to the Poplar Chapel...it was Baptist and demolished after WWII. All these years, I have been searching the C of E and now they might be Baptist.

When civil registration came in, most non-parochial registers were handed over to the Registrar General and made their way to the National Archives where they can be found in series RG 4 to RG 8. See the catalogue for details.

Also see "Non-conformist births, marriages and deaths (1567-1840)" on this page -

Taken from the book "My Ancestors Were Baptists":

Deptford- births 1824-34 and MIs- apply to staff, held on microfiche

Poplar- church book and minutes exist for 1808-1853, they contain biographical infomation, church in Cotton St, archives held at The Angus Library and Archive, Regents Park College, Oxford
