I've just come across a George Conduit who married an Elizabeth Cable, must have made an electric couple.

Also noticed: Aurelius John Drewe - a coal merchant
    Leveret Whitney - a currier
    Keturah Frances Wort
    Deidamia (didn't note the surname)
    Flower Minty (male)
    Flower Rose (female)

These might not be unusual but in my tree they are certainly different:-

    Waldegrave
    Athelinda
    Jeptha
    Beriah
    Edward Coronation (1902!)
    Ocean (boy)
    Horatio - obviously feeling patriotic......

Default Odd Fellows & family in West Bromwich

    Hiya,

I posted these names on a thread about the Odd Fellows society under Occupations, but thought they might attract more attention here - unusual they certainly are, even allowing for mis-transcriptions! I can't remember which census it was in now; I think it was 1871 or 1881.

The Fellows household consists of mum Hannah and her children: Naththali, Silena, Josepha and Gessope... and Odd!! No occupations listed as far as I can remember apart from a miner and a couple of scholars.

    Any thoughts on these?

Gosh - some splendid ones here. And to think, I was thrilled to find a new direct 5xgreat gradad called Isaac! It makes a change from every other one being a William or a Thomas.

I can boast our Absalom Holland (a great great grandad), and our splendid Abert Amelia Stokes, not to mention our Imperial George Arthur Stokes (I kid you not).

However, as far as silly names go, during my researches I did come across a little chap called Pullon Siddall. Thankfully, for me, he's not one of mine. Thankfully, for himself, he died in infancy. I should imagine he would have had a damned hard life with that one!
