    Thank you, thank you I would go off and have a , but I have to go to my German class .

    I was particularly interested in the powder mills question as my gggrandfather worked there from sometime before 1871 until at least 1901, but he certainly didn't leave £800,000 to his ancestors (not that I have heard anyway!). That branch is one of my s.

    I was very impressed with how much Sue had been able to learn about Arthur Gilstain - even down to his height and the colour of his eyes and hair!

    The description came from his Discharge Papers at The National Archives. Well worth looking for if you have a military ancestor from that period.
