Default Hello, new here - my surname interests...

Good day!! This is my first post on this forum.

I have been researching my family for about 12 years and have traced my maternal family back as far as Richard Heddyche born early 1500s in Berkshire and my paternal family as far back as Thomas Longman born 1560 in Somerset.

My direct line ancestry family surnames (parents/grandparents/great grandparents etc only) are:

London/Surrey/Middlesex - Redding, Bellamy, Gearey, Hathway, Barker, Colyer, Brooks, Toft(s), Summers, Furlong, Way

    Essex - Woodfine, Barker, Walker

Berkshire - Dod/Dodde/Dodd, Headach, Headache, Heddyche, Maskell, Manning, Simpson

Somerset/Dorset - Mallett, Derrick, Hutchings, Chidzey, Longman, Hooper, Sly, Orchard, Prince, Cox, Lamb, Parker, Millard, Clothier, Hodges, Ridout, Crase, Toldervyll

I'd love to hear from anyone who thinks there may be a connection or maybe help anyone out from my own experiences.

    Regards

    Stewart

    Hello Stewart

I have just come across this post of your from 12 years ago. Are you still busy researching your family tree. I have been working on mine for a few years and have been researching many of the same surnames as you. I rather think we may be looking at the same family! My mother’s maiden name was Hathway and our family tree on that side has Hathway, Dodd, Summers, and Way. Are you by any chance descended from Robert Hathway b1762 and Sarah Way? (They were my fifth great grandparents.). If this is our connection I would love to hear what progress you have made. I have hit quite a blockage with the Hathways before the early 1700s. I have many many dna connections with Hathways /Hathaways in Gloucestershire in the 1600s but I don’t know where our family was exactly during that time.

Anyway,I would love to hear from you.

    Best wishes

    Catherine
