    Hi Kev

There is a Titus Webb found on familysearch and Staffordshire baptisms, he was born 1796 in "Brierley Hill". Is this your Titus?

If so...there is some census, early naturalization and passenger list info available which should go a little way to providing a starting point.

The early US census' doesn't give a great deal of information unfortunately and I cannot find a passenger list entry for Titus' original journey to the US but have found a later one (at least) when he was an American citizen.

He can be found in the 1850, 1860 and 1870 census (possibly 1840 census also) and his naturalization petition is dated 4 Feb 1847.

    Destination: United States of America
    Place of Origin: New York
    Ethnicity/Race*/Nationality: American
    Ship Name: Vigo
    Port of Arrival: New York
    Line: 27
    Microfilm Serial: M237
    Microfilm Roll: M237_206

    Occupation, merchant

    Household members

Titus Webb, age 74, occupation blank, born England, parents of foreign birth, US citizen
Catharine Webb, age 69, keeps house, born Scotland, parents of foreign birth

This is the 1840 census info, which only gives head of household name, number of people in the household, age groups and number of people employed.....

1840 Census, Newtown, Queens, New York (1 June 1840)

    Titus Webb

    2 people in the household

    1 male age 40 - 50 and 1 female age 40 - 50

Occupation information, 1 person employed in Manufactures and trades.

I haven't found Elijah Webb in any other US census apart from the 1850 although I have found a passenger list entry for an Elijah Webb age 11, born England travelling to New York 17th May 1850 on the ship "York Town". He appears to be travelling alone.

I hope this is of some help

    Best wishes

    Yvonne

Titus is the subject of a further thread in 2020.
So that research isn't duplicated, please post any further information about Titus in the new thread.
