    Default Adoption Pre 1927

We are trying to find out something about my mother in law. Apparently she was born 9.3.1914 in London Katherine Wilhelmina Clarke. We can't find her registered so can't send for b/c.
Katherine was with her mother at the age of 3 but she was later taken in by a family, the Cooke's. Her mum was a showgirl who died in the flu epidemic at the end of WW1. Katherine lived on a farm with foster family (Presumably the Cooke's) in Billericay Essex. She left here at the age of 14 to live with 2 older ladies. As a young adult she worked at Lyons Corner House in The Strand where she worked her way up to a position of some importance. She did marry and had 2 boys.

Now you know as much as we do!!!!
Where do we go from here? Can someone point us in the right direction.
    Regards
    Andrea Brownsdon
