The following website may be of some assistance as it gives transcriptions of many of the parishes in Hampshire.

OSMAN Family from Bartley
My great-great-grandfather is Silas Osman, Enos' brother. I have traced the name as far back as William Osman, born 1820 in Eling. If anyone has traced back any further I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks ever so much for this!
Did you find this information online? I've found out quite a lot through the birth death and marriage records but obviously am starting to hit some dead ends now I'm getting earlier than 1837.
Thanks again for sharing what you've found out!

Hello,
Im new to all this, but I thought randomly I would take a stab in the dark and see if I can spot my family tree online, when it all started, just wanting to know where the Osman name came from as I've just been to Egypt and everybody thought I was some sort of descendant from God as its a name held in high regard...and I tend to get this where ever I seem to travel to...Turkey, Greece...even Spain!! Very strange.
But anyway, I saw there was this Thread and saw the name Enos? A very unusual name, but it was the middle name of my Granddad’s, born in and around the 1920's...I think?
His full name - Douglas Enos Osman and he too went to school in Bartley and lived in Woodlands, Cadnam.
He had a Brother call Harvey, these names are all names that keep cropping up...also, there seems to be alot of Osman's cropping up lately!!
Who else is out there???
