Just wondering if anyone has this gentleman 'missing' from their family after christening.
By 1845 this John is in Australia getting married to my 3rd great grand aunt. There are several possibilites on the IGI to choose from, at least one has been located in the 1881 census so can be discounted.
Because the name is so common, it has been difficult for me to locate a certain death for a hint as to his parents names, and he has married before such things are recorded in New South Wales.
regards
Christine

John claimed an 27 Nov 1845 marriage in Sydney, NSW -
nsw marr index..
JA = Presbyterian Sydney, Scots Church
V18451052 73B/1845 TURNBULL JOHN HAMAN ELIZABETH JA
V1845549 77/1845 TURNBULL JOHN HAMAN ELIZABETH JA
But he married my Elizabeth HUNT - it could be a mistranscription, or she had been married before. Her 14th child was born 1871. A tree online has her fronting an Education Board meeting for not sending some kids to school - this was 1878, so I'm presuming her husband had died, or left, before then or else he would be summoned. Shortly after she was committed to an asylum.

Turnbull 1820's Alnwick
I note you have the family names of the Turnbull family.
My interest lies in Ann Turnbull christened 20 Jan 1826.
I now know where she was christened and who her parents are. Thank you.
Ann married William Bell, bootmaker and sadly died just after giving birth to her second child when she was aged 20.
What I do want to know is where was Green Batt Meeting House in Alnwick?

I've just Googled it, and the first hit takes me straight to discovery.Nationalarchives.gov.uk. The next hit is for FamilySearch.org, which apparently also has details.
Further, I don't want to go on my phone!

This may help Berbell. I believe Green Batt Meeting House was also known as Sion or Zion Meeting House.
